Order of the day looks to Lay today. Four meetings that are lacking in genuine quality, but we have a nice one lined up at Brighton that is on the Members Service and should see us back at the pay out counter.
Elsewhere I have my eye on Greenwich Meantime (4.40) at Hereford who is a decent horse, now with Alan King having been a good flat horse for Richard Fahey. The Maiden Hurdle looks exceptionally weak, although there are sixteen runners it really only concerns four of these runners and Greenwich Meantime looks to have this at his mercy.
Layform has had two non-runners in a row but has two lays today which are free throughout April. Nottingham has Good Ground with Good to Firm in places, which may find a few out. Similarly Brighton is a difficult course with it's adverse camber which may find a few horses that don't handle the undulations.
There is an interesting two year old race at Nottingham where David Evans Star Rover is an odds on shot to repeat his win at Kempton. This is very short, particularly as the horse is up against horses from yards that excel with their youngsters. I would be tempted to Lay this one at the prices.
