Moderate is being kind for today's cards, especially on the All-weather. Stratford is not great but stands head and shoulders above the sand!
I will not be getting involved very much today. I have a few things to sort out and today is a good day to do them!

Two horses to note are in the first and last at Stratford. Raincoat in the 2.30 is the one I had my eye on, but is far too short a price. Having only had one run over hurdles the 1.96 on Betfair probably says more about the quality of the race than it does about the merits of Raincoat for the future. Having said that he was rated 109 on the flat (once) and was second in The Dante to no lesser horse than Authorized. Now he lines up in a Novice at Stratford, surely he will win this. The fact that this is being considered as a bet today is indicative of the quality of racing on offer!
In the last, the bumper, Frascati Rock is a very nice horse. The problem I have here is that the horse has to concede 10 pounds and more to his rivals, which he may be good enough to do, but also has an amateur jockey aboard. The rider may claim five pounds but against such names as McCoy and Johnson I would suggest that five pounds does not compensate for the massive gulf in class. No offence to Mr Connell, he owns the horse and has every right to ride it. I hope he wins, but I can't back it seriously given the double negatives. If he wins the race he is a very decent horse, thats for sure!
All in all I think it's a no play day on the backing front.

Off to a good start at Musselburgh yesterday and today we lay BOO in the 3.00 Stratford.
