Thought of the Day...

Why is it that Jockeys retiring almost always end their careers on a winner. Today Alan Daly went out on a winner with the well backed Dessert Dreamer. It was a similar story when Tony Dobbin retired and there was an apprentice jump jockey, whose name I forget, who gave up to further his career is therapy, you guessed it went out on a winner.

Now I am not suggesting that things are choreographed for a happy ending, not for a minute!

That said good luck to the lad who I believe is going to join the fire service.

  1. Well, to be fair he was entitled to win the race on all known form. I backed the winner, but I must admit that when he went past Spencer, I could have sworn Spencer just took a slight pull, I could be wrong but it looked enough to hand the initiative to the winner. Having said that, he did show a decent turn of foot and if you left a job you would want a leaving present too right ;-)
