Gold Award for Me Today..

A few short ones today, but a couple look solid propositions, not least the Royal runner at Warwick. Last week Garaghty and Henderson teamed up to win the Triumph and Champion Hurdle, this week much more moderate spoils should be heading their way.

I know I say Lay anything 1-2 and under but Lindeman (2.20 Warwick) surely can't get turned over in the first can it? Well after yesterdays 1-10 shocker in the first this 1-3 shot is a massive price in comparison, the form book will be a total nonsense if Lindeman doesn't beat this lot. I am going to double this horse with my main bet of the day which is Gold Award (3.25 Warwick).

The Queen's horse won by a head last time at Doncaster, but that was a cheeky ride where the horse never came off the bridle. It may have to work a bit harder today, but Geraghty is not one for showing off, he just gets the job done and I fully expect this classy horse to prevail.

I fully expect McCoy to make his daily visit to the winners enclosure aboard Jim Best's Mount Benger (2.40 Chepstow), but will resist backing it at the 1.66 on Betfair that is currently on offer, its too short and the horse is a bit of a monkey running at the basement level. It is one of those that should win, but is not one to back or lay.

The Grand National is only two weeks away and I will start to look in to the race in detail later today, although I have to say My Will looks to be well treated after his Gold Cup fifth and I am already on at 14-1.

In summary there are a few shorties today, I think Henderson will land a double at Warwick but these short ones are going down like The Titanic, so caution is urged.

Have a good day.
