There are one or two crumbs of gold hiding in the moderate cards today. This time last week it was the Supreme Novice Hurdle and Champion Hurdle that was on our agenda. Not today, not even close. All today's prize money wouldn't get close to one of the feature races at Cheltenham. But we know what we are dealing with!
I have had a very big word for one, which is worth a serious gamble, it comes from a good source for whom we operate an advice service, but although I can not put it up on here I can point you to the free trial line which is in operation at the minute. Its 0844 811 2814. Its a local call. I have an agreement with regards to info from that source. But if you dial it you will get the horse and I think you will agree its looking good at a decent price.
What I can tell you is that I will not be interested in much else, but I do like the look of Nightjar in the 2.55 at Southwell. Small field handicaps can be trappy but Mark Johnston's horses are always ridden positively and never suffer from false run races. Well worth a look.
Sam Turner in The Mail has put up Newbay Bob (4.25 Exeter) as his NAP. I know nothing about Hunter Chases but I am interested in this for two reasons. Firstly Sam's a good judge and secondly it is 8.4 to back. Sam makes a compelling argument; Shaped with plenty of promise last time and may have fitness edge. Well worth a look at that price, even as an Each Way interest.
I have added some great images of Cheltenham 2009- Click HERE
The images are wonderful, taken form The Daily Mail and The Times Online. Excellent!
