Well Done to Bet Angel Sponsoring at Southwell

Bet Angel are putting something back in to the sport today by Sponsoring at Southwell. They did the same last week and it is nice to see such organisations putting something back in to racing, a few others should take note!

Well it is usual Tuesday stuff, but there is money to be made today. If you are trading the markets then you may get some decent price movements, and I think that there are few to take on today. A few favourites look pretty shakey as well as a couple of ones that are solid.

Southwell is a unique track, the only one with a fibre sand surface. The other all-weather courses (3 or 4 depending on wether Great Leighs is an official course or not), are Poly Track. Horses either love or hate the surface. I like to look for Southwell form and lay favourites who have never ran at Southwell before, but there are factors to bear in mind when taking one on, not least the stable and who they have booked.

Take Dzesmin in the first race (2-10) at Southwell. He has never ran on the surface, but Fahey is a shrewd trainer and I would not take him on. I have heard that they fancy this one today, but the lack of course form is a doubt in my mind but the trainer is one of the best. In contrast Rebel Duke (2.40) loves Southwell and looks bang on for victory today. I also think Staute Book in the last is a solid proposition for the four timer.

Elsewhere it looks tricky. Folkstone is where I would take on the favourites. Early flat season results throw up some strange winners, often those with a fitness edge can come to the fore and favourites fair poorly.
