My Will to Win The National...BET NOW

My Will to Hammer The Bookies in The Grand National

On Saturday there will be more people with a bet on the outcome of The Grand National than on any other race in the world. Such is the tradition of this four and a half mile steeple chase that everyone becomes a punter hoping back the winner of what really is one of the hardest races to solve in the entire racing calendar. I hope that I can point you towards the winner or at least an each way bet that you can cheer home from 4.15, Live on BBC One.

Twelve months ago Comply or Die landed a Nationwide gamble that hit the bookies hard, a winning favourite is the stuff of nightmares for the bookmakers. This year My Will looks sure to start as favourite with Ruby Walsh having chosen this one from the many leading chances available to him. Walsh was the star of the Cheltenham Festival with seven winners which included the Gold Cup where he was aboard Kauto Star. My Will finished fifth in that race and has a favourable weight to carry for the race which has been his target all year. This horse was 14-1 after that Gold Cup run but will not be anywhere near that price on Saturday but is a worthy favourite with form, weight, trainer and jockey all big positives in the punter’s favour. This will be the one the bookie fear most but for form students it is the one most definitely to be on. I managed to get 14-1 just after the Gold Cup but would still back him at today’s price because every time I look at the card My Will stands out a mile and I think he will win.

Ruby Walsh had a spectacular choice of rides including Southern Vic, trained by his father Ted, Snowy Morning and Big Fella Thanks all of whom have live chances. Big Fella thanks is the most interesting of those passed over by Walsh who would be the first novice ever to win The Grand National if he was first past the post on Saturday, certainly he is a decent each way bet.

There will be 39 other horses to beat as well as the gruelling fences that have been the downfall of many horses and jockeys over the years. Former winners Comply or Die and Silver Birch will both line up but neither has been in good form this season. I have no doubts that David Pipe will have last years winner fit and ready to defend his title and unusually he is not weighted out of it if he can find his form again.

Tony McCoy is the greatest jump jockey of all time and earlier this year he passed the 3000 career winner total, an astonishing achievement, but he has never won the Grand National, an equally astonishing statistic in my view. Like Walsh McCoy had a wide choice of horses. Retained by leading Irish owner JP McManus who has a host of runners McCoy had a dilemma between Butlers Cabin and King John’s Castle both have very solid chances and both are good each way bets. It would be fitting for such a great jockey to win the greatest race of them all.

In Summary MY WILL TO WIN
Back Him NOW
